Cuisinart CGG 888 Grill Stainless Steel Black Friday Deals 2020
Hey you do like to do some cooking outdoors don’t you you’ll have to go camping tailgating hanging out little barbecue with friends whatever maybe it’s the backyard biggest travel this thing might work for you I pick this up it’s Cuisinart grill stair portable gas grill I picked it up for a couple of reasons it seemed pretty robust as we go ahead and unbox it here
I’ll show it to you but on top of that and maybe most importantly it was one of the cheapest ones I could find now but this one really seemed to have portability in mind when they built it and it seemed to have a pretty large space now I found some girls online that were like again they used a small propane bottle this one I think uses those slightly larger one the kind of the portable camping one but it was only slightly more only about more than those so I thought I’d pick this up and I’m gonna try it out you’re tailgating and the other cool thing is it’s it’s a fairly compact size with a large grill surface and not a circular surface I was looking at some of those that are just round and seems like you’re gonna have some trouble putting on like hamburger patties or hot dogs and sometimes they’re even a little convex they feel like things might roll off this is just more traditional on top of that as you can see I can’t open it up here because you can apparently lock the lid it down and then you can just carry it with by the handle here so as you can see I can just carry in this as particularly if I’m going to a camp site or a tailgate you know it’s meant to be portable so that’s pretty cool and then they’ll handle certainly while thin definitely seems robust and it seems mountain of what looks like stainless steel materials everywhere so Cuisinart name emblazoned on the top and as you can see it’s a little bit triangular now if we unlatch this and then lifts it up so that we unlock the lid what we can do is take a look inside of it and boom cardboard so we’ve got some stuff here so in this first box it looks like we have kind of the grill connection equipment here so we have looks like a little drip tray and then we also have gas regulator so this will screw on to the top of your propane tank it looks like this threads on with like a brass fitting on to the side there so we will definitely take a look at that then the grill is separated from its real surface I should say from the bottom of the grill by this piece of paper and as you can see it looks more like a traditional grill and it’s effectively flat but it’s in kind of a waved pattern here which is kind of nice it gives you almost like grill bars and then it has holes all on the top and the bottom here with a filled-in surface right in the middle and that’s where the flame the burners are going to be and so it kind of keeps the flames from just going straight up and only cooking this it kind of pushes that heat out to the sides which is cool and so what we do here have it’s a burner and then we have an igniter down here I do see on the front right here there is looks like a push-button igniter and if I just push it I can actually see it sparking so just a manual push-button igniter which is great you don’t have to worry about having matches or a long light or anything like that inside you can see that this is just a kind of a stamped piece of sheet metal in stainless steel and it looks great it feels pretty good and then we have what looks like to be a powder coated interior line to bottom and black these the pieces on the side also look like they’re they’re metal and look like powder coated in black so we’re all really attractive looking portable grill I’m just gonna slide this back in here and what we have here is a pretty nice big grill surface I could definitely see putting one two three four burgers on it or a dozen hot dogs if there were small burger patties you could probably get six to eight of them across there and I don’t know that you want to force it there’s a couple of little tabs right here on the back so that you have to slide grow into it that’s also gonna prevent the grill from lifting up and I ain’t you can’t lift it up and so especially when this is closed and this is holding down here I think yeah you won’t have that grill surface flopping around pretty pretty clever I notice here’s the bottom is interesting you can see these two black bars and these extend ours create legs to keep it off the surfaces uh for the table or whatever you know it might be up picnic table or something like that even you have this you have the drip tray which slides into these slots right here on the bottom to catch anything and then on this side where the igniter is you will put your valve your regulator your gas regulator it’s just screws in and this is kind of loose which I think it’s supposed to be because once you start flowing what you put the the canister on it’ll just kind of swivel until it hits the table or whatever surface you’re hooking on and then you’ll will turn this up push to turn on and low medium high and then you turn it all the way off and it pops back up and then once that’s turned on you’ll have gas flowing in there this is not raised off the surface you open this up ignite it and you’re good to go fYI on this side this thing is called a match hold assembly which I’m not sure what it is if you know you can comment below but you’ll remove this before you transport into some something soft latch this sucker back up to your next event all right let’s see how it works so a couple things I want to say you know this thing worked pretty well and I did buy two of the little Coleman propane canisters as you can see here the cool thing about them in the way that the grill is designed is that you can actually wrap them in bubble wrap like I did here and get them inside the grill and carry them with you inside the grill so you can put the the propane the gas regulator the drip tray the whole nine yards inside the grill and it’s really just a compact self-contained grilling unit and then how did it grill it grew old great actually it exceeded my expectations and then I was able to get five regular kind of those standard frozen premade hamburger patties on the grill at once without them even touching which was fantastic you could do like I said probably twelve to fifteen hotdogs at a time and the drip tray worked and caught a lot of the grease so it really cooked very well and I was shocked at how fast it cooked as well on that high setting you know it definitely moved in groove the the slots on the side where the lid kind of meets those side panels is really where vents the smoke out of so you kind of get a couple of plumes of smoke out of the sides and you know depending on where you’re grilling obviously that can blow around a little bit but at least it has a place that it vents and that’s that’s where you’ll see it come out from now cleanup is a little bit harder you got to take the grill out and then you’ve got to kind of reach in and get the stuff out from underneath it but man the thing just worked great I only used a portion of one bottle of real pain to do you know of 15 or 20 hamburgers and I would definitely buy this thing over again so I’ll put a link to in the description if you’re looking for something portable and small and yet have the capacity to cook a decent amount of food.
